Bloom's Taxonomy Overview

Because I thought that students will need to share their ideas in a class, I added a presentation as task3. Also, after all groups finish their own presentation, students can analyze, comment, argue and so on when they write essay. This is good. because students can think about the thing from different point of view, and reconsider about the question which they have

Task 1 March 22

March 22, 2011
Momoko Kikuchi
1. Read and answer the question: what kind of models there was mentioned and what’s their role in learning?
2. sketch of greenhouse effect
3.
a) make general overview of the issue.
Nowadays we produce too much gases such as CO2 for example by driving cars; therefore, we are getting much more greenhouse gases. It is said that greenhouse gas has a strong connection between global warming, so we really need to reduce these gases to protect the earth.
b) Do you know enough about the atmosphere?
Actually my answer is NO. I’ve heard about greenhouse gas and global warming; in addition, I know about “no my car day project” in Japan. However, I know only their name and I’ve thought these issues as others’, because we can’t see the actual condition of this issue by our eyes. Now, it’s time to deepen my knowledge about it.
c) What are the main things affecting to phenomena?
As I mentioned above, the things which cause the phenomena are gases by car, too much consumption of electricity and so on. That is to say, things which human produce to our comfortable lives are the main causes of the phenomena.

d) Observation
If there are so much green house gases, it makes radiation difficult to go out of the atmosphere, and cause high temperature. On the other hand, if there is no, radiation easily goes up toward the atmosphere, and the temperature goes down to about -18 degree.
As a comparison between today and 1750, each average of temperature is 16-17 and 14-15. It may seem not a big change, but the temperature is surely getting higher compared to the year 1750, because we built a lot of buildings and have industrial pollution.

4. Our experience of Model-based learning in the context of simulation of the greenhouse effect. (one comment about webquest)
The web material is good for students to improve their self searching ability, because this time, I tried to figure out what is happening on the screen by watching, comparing and thinking. This process is quite important for students to understand and get knowledge about those phenomena.
